Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame

In order for shura's effect to work it must be Face-up on the field when the monster is destroyed and then sent to the grave. Here are a few situation's in which shura's effect does or does not work:

1. If Shura and the other monster destroy each other by battle (equal ATK), Shura’s effect does not activate
   
2. If Shura is destroyed by a flip effect monster like Man-Eater Bug, Shura's effect does not activate
   
3. If Shura is removed from play by battling “D.D. Warrior,” Shura’s effect does not activate
   
4. If Shura is destroyed by an effect after the monster it destroyed by battle was sent to the Graveyard, such as “Michizure,” Shura’s effect DOES activate, and you can Special Summon a monster

So to sum up if Shura isn't on the field it's effect doesn't activate ;p

So to be clear, if Shura attack a Jujitsu Master, and the Shura controller uses Kalut, Shura doesn't activate?

no it wouldn't, it needs to be on the field for the effect to resolve

Should just kind of update this stating that since Shura still destroyed Jujitsu, it's effect does activate. Jujitsu is considered destroyed before it's effect activates. Then, when the effects do activate, Shura and Jujitsu go onto a chain, Jujitsu is Chain Link 1 since it's mandatory, and Shura is Chain Link 2. So, Shura resolves first. Then, Jujitsu resolves and returns Shura to the top of the deck. So, the aforementioned ruling is incorrect.

So with like lets say man eater bug shura would still get the effect because man eaters effect is mandatory?

Shura doesn't get the effect because it's not face-up when the monster is sent to the graveyard. Man-Eater bugs effect activates and resolves in the 6th step of the Damage Step. Jujitsu and Shura both activate in the 7th Step, when monsters are actually removed from the field. So, at the point of Jujitsu's effect activating, it's already considered to be destroyed by battle and in the grave. Thus, Shura is face-up when the monster is sent to the graveyard, so his effect will activate and go on chain to Jujitsu's. It doesn't work with Man-Eater bug since Shura is destroyed before reaching this step.

lol dom the man eater bug situation was already up on my first post ;( and already said that it's effect wouldn't work because Man eater bug's effect would activate at the 6th substep of the battle phase and shura's effect would be activated in the last sub phase 7. So man eater bug would destroy shura before his effect would activate on the last sub phase of the battle!

How the fuck is this supposed to be a childrens card game. A young Albert Einstein wouldn't know how to play this game. =/

Clearly in the Anime it's not just for children because older Men / Woman also play this game so it show's that the age group is a range from young adolecent's to adult's ;P

this game was meant just for kids. but adults got jealous so they played. and kids were beat every time they played with adults because adults take games to serously. out of 10 adults 6 or higher cheat. out of 10 kids only 2 cheat. most kids play for fun. while most adults play to win. its a sad time for kids to see there role models became like that.
