Lyla Prio Question

I want a confirm on this, I heard if someone summons Lyla and calls prio, and it gets BOM'ed or whtvr u don't get effect, because cost of switching it to defense didn't resolve.

From what I gather, switching Lyla to DEF is a part of resolving the effect, so BoM means that no card is destroyed as Lyla was not switched from face-up ATK to face-up DEF. Likewise for BTH.

Lyla has to switch for its effect, so if it is removed from the field or switched to defense in response her effect disappears.

I think this also occur's with other monsters like Breaker cuz his effect for priority is just to add 1 counter to him and if they dont have a response you can take that counter off to use his effect to destroy a spell/trap on field.
